A Tiptoe Dance—Day Twenty-One of NaPoWriMo 2022

It was the dream that walked on tiptoe,

It baffles me yet what transpired that day,

When life played in a different flow.

I called out to my friend in this land below,

A grey stranger emerged, much to my dismay,

It was the dream that walked on tiptoe.

I woke beside a beauty of heavenly glow,

I panicked, her eyes held me and whispered stay,

When life played in a different flow.

A new life with no one to owe?

These perfect memories I could forever replay,

It was the dream that walked on tiptoe.

Perhaps recollections of a life well lived eons ago,

Or maybe the life I always wanted—a happy cliché,

When life played in a different flow.

You may yet think me crazy, which may be apropos,

As I crash on the floor of a bustling café.

It was the dream that walked on tiptoe.

When life played in a different flow.
