Super Max’s Unexpected 2025 F1 Title Charge
Some Athletes chase greatness, Max Verstappen? Gets out of bed, gets into the car, floors the throttle, and manages to blow everyone away with his incredible speed and skill.
If you’ve somehow managed to be living under a rock for the past five years, you probably haven’t even heard the name, Max Verstappen. The young 4-time F1 world Champion has etched an unmistakable legacy in the motorsport that is Formula 1.
He came into the 2025 season, having won the last 4 F1 titles. He was well and truly the top dog. But this season was far from the cakewalk that everyone expected from him. Max and his team, Red Bull Racing, were not the dominant force that they usually are; instead, it was the McLaren F1 team whose drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, led the way early on, winning 12 of the first 15 races.
Red Bull seemed to have gotten it wrong; their car was far from being competitive and good races seemed hard to come by. What does one do when all goes wrong? Put your money on Max Verstappen. From quite literally nothing, he managed to outperform his car, utilising his driving ability and his decade’s worth of experience to execute races to absolute perfection, finishing second and third on multiple occasions.
Despite the odds stacked against him, and the fact that the McLaren drivers pulled a humongous advantage both in terms of the points gap and performance-wise too, Super Max still thrived. He went on a run of winning 3 out of the last 5 Grand Prix (Races) and managed to capitalise on the mistakes and inconsistencies of those around him. Whether it was driver errors or pitstop mistakes, Max remained flawless. Showing why he is so highly regarded as one of the greatest to have graced the sport.
The points gap between Max and the championship leader was 104 points only 5 races ago. Now? It’s down to 36. The unlikely charge for the 5th is truly on.
As a neutral (Being a lifelong Ferrari fan is not for the weak-hearted) it’s hard not to root for Max. A clear underdog who’s constantly proving how talented he is for making a title fight possible with such clear disadvantages.
All I have left to say is, we’re in for a brilliant end to the F1 season, and I don’t think you’d want to miss this one.
