The Room That I Once Knew

This Room that I Once Knew
This room held silence carved in stone,
A breath held long, a world alone.
Not built for grandeur, gold, or light
But for the soul that breaks at night.

It knew the crash of both joy and fear,
The racing pulse and the held-back tear.
My laughter rang, then turned to cry,
And dreams were born that dared to die.
Along with the things left unsaid.

The posters, peeling at the seam,
Still whispered fragments of a dream that was once ablaze.
The echoes linger, soft and slow.
Of things I loved and let go.

Now all is boxed, and the walls are bare,
But whispered dreams still hang in air.
The quotes I wrote in fleeting pain.
“Be brave. Hold on. You’ll rise again.”
I leave,
but not all leaves with me.
The keys are gone, the pedal is released.
The symphony remains.
And I am the note that still sustains.
